Battlefield 1 Officially Revealed

It’s finally here, the new battlefield has just been announced today and as I speculated in a previous article, DICE have now confirmed the game will be set during World War 1. Take a look at the new trailer below:

As you can see by the short but snappy trailer, the game shows combat in a variety of different locations spanning from what appears to be Europe and Arabia. Furthermore, dog fights are seen raging from the skies which look incredibly fun and could feature some interesting new mechanics.

As well as huge scaled fighting, the trailer also shows infantry attaching bayonets to their rifles which could suggest that some multiplayer maps will be centered on close quarter combat allowing players to bayonet charge into enemy trenches with the support of tanks and air vehicles.  Moreover, there is even evidence of potential naval battles as we see a battleship engaging into combat. If that isn’t enough, we even see soldiers attacking on horses which would be an incredible new feature I would love to see in the game.

Although the trailer is short, DICE have done a fantastic job of presenting several key features into the game whilst still leaving many questions unanswered. Personally, I believe that the battlefield franchise has taken the correct step forward by moving the setting into World War One, as it feels fresh and unsaturated which will surely attract a lot more new comers and old fans to the game. Overall, Battlefield 1 appears to be one of the most dynamic games to date, let’s hope it will live up to the hype.

Battlefield 1 will be releasing on October 21, 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC (Origin). If you want to play three days early, an Early Enlister Deluxe Edition will be available for all platforms on October 18 for $79.99 and will include extra vehicles, weapons and emblems including the Red Baron Pack, the Lawrence of Arabia Pack, and new visual appearances for three large vehicles — the Frontline Camouflage Train, the Night Raid Airship, and the Dazzle Camouflage Dreadnought.
